This update adds selectable difficulty. This influences both enemy stats and behavior as well as how much progress you lose when you're eaten. Sour (level 2) difficulty is the default, and includes several adjustments to make the game easier. Spicy (level 3) is close to the original difficulty. There are four difficulty levels in total. I will continue to make adjustments based on player feedback.
I have a few ideas for more things I want to add, but I wanted to get this stuff out first. Stay tuned!
Changes:
- Difficulty settings!
- Floating sign in the initial room that gives hints from time to time.
- Frogs will now intentionally try to eat kobolds (only on Sweet and Sour difficulties)
- Adjusted a room or two
- Added particle effect to the basement door (to make it more OMINOUS)
- Intro text can be advanced faster
- Turned off filesize optimizations on the EXE. Hopefully this helps with the antivirus false positives.
